Baltra and Silent Servant are two of the many artists that will play Friday at Moogfest 2017. Both will anchor the late night line up at different venues of course.
So awhile back i predicted this year’s Moogfest will be remembered for more of the day events.
Not so fast!
While the night line up has reduced somewhat from 2016, especially the Carolina Theater Fletcher Hall which has no live performances on Saturday night this year unless you want to call Prelude to Sleep one, outside of the major acts performing during the night of May 18th to May 20th, i anticipate NY based Baltra’s style of bleak house music to attract attention from those who don’t care to hang out at Motorco that night. While last years event forged different crowds that probably didnt promote much migration, this years might provoke that a bit more – except for this night of course.
Baltra will be going on around midnight Friday/Saturday at The Bar on Rigsbee Ave.
It should be a short walk from Derrick May who will be at the Armory, but former Sandwell District alumni Silent Servant will go on 30 minutes earlier at Pinhook a couple of miles away. If the world was perfect, the goth minimal synth driven Silent Servant would be playing at the same venue as Baltra, but then that would be just too easy would it?
