French electronic producer Uppermost (Behdad Nejatbakhshe) would seem like a busy producer this past March (2019).  Earlier (March 8th 2019), his Uppwind label released their first compilation titled Uppwind on Air” featuring a Digitalism remix of Uppermost’s 2018 track ‘Better Days Ahead’, plus separate tracks with Satin Jackets and Jack Lena.  Curated by him it also featured songs by Elder Island, Mesita, Last Island and many more….according to the bio, its an eclectic combination of electronic tracks that cover a broad spectrum of genres, including ambient, house, synthwave, nu-disco, French Touch, funk, and a drop of liquid drum and bass.

He would conclude, ““I am happy and proud to put out the label’s very first compilation. I’ve always been looking for ways to showcase the work of talented and passionate people through an independent brand that focuses on quality rather than quantity. I also took this opportunity to include a brand new track of mine featuring Jack Lena’s amazing voice. It follows the new direction I took a few months ago, going away from the expectations of success and fame, focusing on the things that truly matter to my heart.”

To culminate this month, this weekend (March 29th 2019), the veteran recording artist of 9 full albums and 16 EPs released his new single ‘Overcome’ on his Uppwind label.  Before listening be prepared for a song driven by emotion, tug of heartstrings, dreamy chords and ethereal vocal manipulations with a funky bassline.

Speaking about ‘Overcome’, Uppermost says, “I’ve discovered that the depth of my music is linked to the experiences I live, especially the most painful ones. Like if you needed to be at your lowest to bring out what’s best in you. Music is a way for me to overcome the negative energy that takes control of my mind when something bad happens, kinda like a silent friend that’s always there to cheer you up when you’ve lost hope.”

Apparently it happens to be a part of the one single every month series which began earlier this year with  ‘Open Hearts’.
