Just days before the Moogfest 2019 launches her new tour, Brooklyn based composer, producer, and multi-instrumentalist Kelly Moran announced a new release titled “Origin”, an EP of a handful of demos and unreleased music recorded during the “Ultraviolet” sessions. “Origin” features seven songs of largely stripped back and acoustic recordings, featuring the artist at her home piano and recorded in one take.
As for the single “Night Music” from the upcoming EP, it goes back to the recordings of “Ultraviolet”, initially improvised during the same session from which it emerged, as were “Water Music,” “Reflexive Music,” and “Halogen”, but eventually was designated for this EP.
“These recordings show firsthand my musical discoveries in real-time for when I was having my major creative breakthrough,” says Moran.
