Noah Kittinger revived the bedroom pop and chillwave project Bedroom with the single “Count to Five”. Its the first since his EP Bloom in 2016. Bedroom was created by Kittinger in 2012 and released four albums and EPs total.
Regarding the track Kittinger stated “A while back I decided to stop making music with this project. I wanted to try other avenues which led to an EP under my own name, which then led to a hiatus of some sort. I never wasn’t working on stuff, I just didn’t see a vision for it anywhere like I did with the early Bedroom releases. After bouncing from wall to wall, I decided to bring the project back. I enlisted the help of Paul Kintzing of German Error Message – I always knew he also lived in Nashville, but we never linked. After a fan tweet that included both of us, we ended up getting together. I explained to him I was having a hard time getting any music finished, I was stuck in place creatively. A week or so later we got into his studio and began working right away. This is just one of the things that we’ve recorded in that space so far. Enjoy.”
Last Friday (May 17, 2019), Norwegian/ Welsh duo, Firewoodisland, released their latest Indie-pop single, ‘One with the Mountain’, independently on the 17th of May.
On the message behind their new single, Firewoodisland explains, “One with the Mountain’ has a double meaning. On the one hand, it is inspired by growing up surrounded by nature; how that is a place of solace and escapade, a place to hide from the world. On the other hand, it is a call to see the importance of our planet, being the first generation to know the full extent of the damage we are causing, it motivates us to think about our actions and take responsibility for our little portion.”
They also have some live appearances later in the year. See below.
7 August: Sidmouth Fringe Sessions (Salcombe Regis, UK)
9 August: KingsStock Festival (Moggerhanger Park – Bedfordshire, UK)
30 August: Between The Trees Festival (Merthyr Mawr, UK)
Earlier this year, NY-based, LA born producer and multi-instrumentalist Beshken released a couple of singles including “Cursed” featured on Chill #53 on the This is Chill Mixcloud music podcast. Last Friday (May 17, 2019), per Billboard announced his debut album “Aisle of Palm” and shared the new single from the upcoming album titled “White Gemini”. Listen to the song HERE.
“White Gemini” is written about the life of American astronaut Ed White, the pilot of the Gemini IV space mission and first human to walk in space and perform EVA (extravehicular activity) on June, 1965. The song, samples from recorded conversations between White and the command center during both EVA and the Apollo test.
Of the single, Beshken says, “I believe that the motivation behind space travel, besides the pure novelty of being where nobody has been before, is to push humanity forward both philosophically and technologically. In order to further expand upon some of the feelings I have about human progress (or lack thereof), technology, and the environment, I decided to write a song about White. A passionate explorer, he willfully distanced himself from both the stability that our home planet provides as well as the problems that it yields.”
