Cold Cave recently announced there would be a new reissue of its 2009 album “Love Comes Close”. It will be reissued and remastered in celebration of their tenth anniversary. Originally released via Heartworm Press and licensed by Matador Records in 2009, Love Comes Close became the official full album debut of Wes Eisold’s project Cold Cave, the first of two full albums, many other EPS and singles, different collaborations and touring throughout the 2010’s with Jesus and Mary Chain, Boyd Rice, Drab Majesty, Nine Inch Nails and others.
In celebration of the record’s tenth anniversary, Heartworm Press will re-release Love Comes Close in a deluxe gatefold double-LP format that will encapsulate the entirety of Cold Cave’s output during its burgeoning years. The breadth of material will include the Love Comes Close LP, Death Comes Close EP and The Trees Grew Emotions and Died b-sides. Remastering treatment is by Bob Weston (Shellac, Volcano Suns) at Chicago Mastering Service.
The Love Comes Close re-release is available to pre-order now here.
Here’s one of my favorite tracks from that album (pre-reissue and remastered of course) – ‘Life Magazine’.
