Late last month, producer Alessandro Marchetti shared his new project Les Flâneurs with the debut of his new single ‘Dark Souls’ featuring Alice Greco uploaded to Youtube. It has since been released last week (Dec 10, 2019) to most platforms. If you haven’t heard it yet, if it doesn’t find itself as that cool minor hit single, it has a home within the lovely confines of the post-trip-hop narrative. For vocalist Alice Greco, this could be one of the more interesting tracks she’s lent her words to.
Here’s an excerpt from the press release below followed by the video(audio).
“Dark Souls” is the very first introduction for Les Flâneurs, a new open project for the producer Alex Marchetti, also a member of “Il Disordine delle Cose”. Warm and trippy, the track it’s inspired by the Bristol Sound of the ’90s. The song focus is Alice Greco’s vocals, who Alex decided to involve after seeing her live in a club with her tribute to Adele, when they were touring all over Europe.
Over those years Alessandro recorded some songs with a different soul, now collected under the name Les Flâneurs, involving collaborations with several artists he met in these years. The sound ranges between indie, electronic and folk, with significant use of synths, drum machines, and orchestral sections.
‘Dark Souls’ is a hygge song, to be tasted sipping a spiced Christmas Tea by the fireplace.
